I’ve recently been re-inspired by Henri Rousseau’s “the sleeping gypsy” and “the dream” to continue my own night time explorations which began with the Night in the Forest series. I’ve always had a fascination with musical instruments (which I view as beautiful pieces of art in their own right) as well as a passion/obsession for music in all its forms.The night time represents a free flowing dream time where anything is possible – the instruments, though man-made are fashioned from the fruits of the earth and their sounds the offerings we give back…and if there are ravens in my paintings it’s because I just think they’re cool 🙂
